About Tony Dixon

Image

My approach to treating any patient is to listen carefully to what they have to say and take a detailed patient history before conducting appropriate orthopaedic and neurological tests to arrive at a clear diagnosis and treatment plan

My overall guiding principle is to do the very best I can for each individual patient.

I trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic and graduated with an honours degree in 2005. Since then I have developed a particular interest in soft tissue treatment and use a sports massage technique known as Soft Tissue Release along with standard massage modalities to stretch and release tight muscles and ligaments.

Since qualifying as a chiropractor I have also trained in the following areas

Myofascial release
Muscle energy testing
Kinesiology Taping
Gait analysis

I am also very interested in the bio-mechanics and function of the foot and its effect on the rest of the musculoskeletal system and can supply off the shelf Orthotics to correct the most common foot problems.

I am a keen cyclist, occasional golfer and would be tennis player.

“I am in my early 40’s and have suffered from chronic back pain and sciatica due to degenerative discs for seven years now. Without regular McTimoney chiropractic treatments I would not be able to move as well as I can now, or work as many hours as I do. I have tried many different treatments as well as medication to alleviate pain – including seeing osteopaths, massage therapists, physiotherapists and chiropractors all around the country! In my opinion, McTimoney chiropractic is the best treatment available, as it is effective yet gentle enough to be able to re-align areas that can be very sensitive and vulnerable. I found more general chiropractic treatment too rough and one osteopath told me he could not treat the lower part of my back due to the nature of the damage there. Tony Dixon can treat this area because the McTimoney method is so much more gentle. Tony is also friendly, professional and helpful so I highly recommend him”.
